On March 26, 2013, employees at Genesys Convalescent Center voted to join their fellow RN’s and Tech’s at GenesysRegional Medical Center (GRMC) as members of Teamsters Local 332. Teamsters negotiated higher wages, better retirement, a health care package and much more for the GCC members.
On July 31, 2015, Genesys Regional Medical Center sold the Genesys Convalescent Center to Grand Blanc Rehab, a forprofit, anti-union company.
Grand Blanc Rehab contracted with Wellbridge to manage the facility. The name of the facility was quickly changed to “Genesee Care Center,” keeping it GCC.
